Sovereignty

MHS will make available to customers the option to dictate data and process sovereignty options as part of their license agreements. Process sovereignty addresses data use needs for both “in flight” and “processing” requirements. Certain customer use cases also have specific needs for data management related to data storage sovereignty. There are control objects in the Service Provider APIs to address that requirement. With the first releases of the Service Provider APIs the ComputeProvider and StorageProvider objects are not yet active, but to prevent a versioned change in the future the signature requirements are within the specification.

The default region for processing and storage is East US. Restricting processing to a specific geographic region and any storage policies need to first be specified in a licensing agreement before they can be supported at runtime. Processing outside of the default region may result in additional charges.
